Altrincham Swimming Club - Newsletter July 2009

Return to Club Info

Altrincham Leisure Centre is having an open day on Sunday 13th July, we have been allocated an hour in the large pool (12-1pm) to promote our club. To make this occasion James Hickman Olympic Silver medallist will be coming down and joining us.

We are looking for 30 swimmers to show the public what Altrincham Swimming Club is all about; this will be an hour of swimming under James Hickman's instructions. If you are interested please can you let me know as soon as possible by e-mail or 07791 263468. Should more than 30 swimmers show an interest Keith would draw names from a hat on Sunday 6th July

The summer disco and BBQ is on July 12th, tickets are still on sale for £5 per family, this was a fantastic night last year.

The triathlon is on the same day, please get your teams together, it will be great fun. Keith has planned a pre triathlon meeting on July 6th at 4pm in the bar at the leisure centre, please can everyone attend, and helpers are needed for on the day.

Pointscore is on July 13th (busy weekend)! Last entry is July 6th. There is NO charge for this pointscore.

Well, done to all the swimmers who competed in the Long Distance club championships, a couple of club records were broken. Times will be posted on the web site in the next couple of days.

Congratulations to the boy’s team who won silver medals in the Manchester and District programme B final, the girls came 4th; Altrincham's overall position was 3rd.

There are a couple of galas coming up over the next couple of weeks, please check your e mails and notice board to see if you have been selected and let Davina know your intentions.

Sunday the 27th July is the last swim before we close for 2 weeks, limited sessions throughout August will commence on August 12th; check the notice board and web site calendar for more details.

Finally, Good Luck to Chris, Hannah W, Nicole and Elizabeth who will commence on the Level 1 coaching course on July 19th. Chris Hannah and Nicole are currently on the Life Guarding course
