Thatβs a wrap for Counties 2026!Β We have seen 3 great weekends of racing, with lots of great swims and learning opportunities!
Β
Swimming is a tough sport at the best of times but as a small club weβve had so much to deal with managing pool time over the last few years. Just as we thought things were going to be on the up, St Ambrose shut at the start of November with our top squad losing around 40% of their pool time. There was so much uncertainty in the weeks that followed, and thank you to Move Altrincham who have rallied round to help save our programme which we managed to launch right at the end of January
Β
We matched our medal total from last year which was great to see with 26 medals in total
Β
Top boy has to be Tom R who has come back from City of Liverpool for Cheshire Counties, with 11
, 1
and 2
plus a myriad of overall awards and top 15 year old boy and 3rd boy overall in the County.Β Well done Tom
Β
Top girl is a real new comer, who always wants to learn, always tries her best and is a really hard worker. Sheβs lovely to have as part of our team! Etta has only just turned 10 and at her first counties won 1
1
and 1
Etta was 6th girl over all in the 10-11 age group. Keep up the good work Etta and keep smiling always!

Well done to all the swimmers! The hard work continues now with our new programme and lots of gains to be made for the rest of the seasonΒ

Β
Thanks to our team managers: Gary, Catherine, Emma, Kristina, Jo, Ian and Jacqui and to all our officials who work so hard to get the swimmers in the right place at the right time.
Β
Thanks to all of our coaches who are so invested in getting the best out of the swimmers, and who have adapted so well to the multiple timetable changes. Thanks to Leah and Kate for their dedication to the swimmers, watching every race in detail and dealing with all the nerves!
